DYE WATER TESTING
Dye water testing is used to confirm visual observations of system defects. Similar to smoke testing, dye infiltration testing is used to test for system leakage by verifying the source of inflow and infiltration.
A safe and non-toxic tracer dye is inserted into wastewater sources and the system is inspected for leakage. Point sources can be confirmed visually. Dye may also be used to positively identify service laterals prior to the initiation of the repair process. Once defects are confirmed, rehabilitation of the structure can be initiated.
